For this project, we had to organize and write a story on the evolution of hardware pieces. This entailed the classification of each hardware piece, a name, and a justification of their evolution. Along with this, a cladogram was made to show the evolution and similar characteristics of each piece.
Presentation
Concepts
Evolution: The process where organisms develop over time.
Cladogram: A diagram that shows relationships between species. We made this to show the relationship between the hardware pieces.
Taxonomy: The classification of organisms. They are classified in the following order: domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species. We classified the hardware pieces using this system.
NaturalSelection: The process where organisms that are better suited for their environment tend to survive and produce more offspring. This was a reason used in our evolution justification story.
Speciation: The formation of a new species.
GeographicIsolation: When a population is separated due to a geographical barrier (river, mountains, etc.). This was used to explain the hardware's evolution. TemporalIsolation: When two or more species reproduce at different times.
BehavioralIsolation: When two species are different in their reproductive strategies that involve behavior.
Reflection
I thought this was an interesting project. One upside to this project was that I stayed on task the whole time and worked hard each day. This caused my group and I to finish our project on time without any stress, which was a second peak. One thing I could work on for next time is my leadership. A few of my group members would sometimes stray off task and I did not try to lead them and give them something to do. Luckily one of my teammates was able to get them to participate. A second pit for this project was my attitude. Sometimes I was negative about how things were turning out. It would have been more helpful to have been positive, so I will make sure to stay positive for the next project.
