The purpose of this lab was to design a wind turbine blade to maximize voltage output at low, medium, and high wind for VAWT and HAWT. From this lab, we were able to conclude that pinwheels generate the most voltage with a horizontal axis. This is true because for a low level it generated 1.1V, medium wind 1.38V, and high wind 7.7V. Our other designs were larger, but generated a smaller amount of voltage. For example, the highest voltage we got out of the other designs was 1.04V. This is less than the pinwheel's smallest amount of voltage. The pinwheel was the best blade because it was small and compact. Since the blades were closer together and curved, the wind had an easier time spinning the blade.
